Amiche ed amici dei rondoni segnalo che è appena uscito a cura dell’ICAF di Enfield (UK) la versione digitale di un volume sugli aspetti antropologici e multidisciplinari del rapporto col cibo, che tratta in particolare di uccelli-cibo nel mondo antico e moderno.
Dopo una visita di amici inglesi interessati ai rondoni e che avevano visitato alcune torri rondonare nostrane, sono stato invitato a raccontare sinteticamente della evoluzione dei nidi artificiali per i rondoni, le torri rondonare, dal medioevo ai nostri giorni, in rapporto con le passerere ma anche con i medievali Sprevepot fiamminghi, con i francesi e inglesi e chissà? anche con i forse coevi Kuş Köşkleri ottomani. Insomma ho condensato in 22 pagine un di oltre trent’anni curiosando nel tempo libero fra rovine di colombaie, scaffali, librerie… suonando campanelli e intervistando anziani ed ho potuto offrire una selezione di letture a mio avviso fondamentali ed anche una scelta di illustrazioni originali rappresentative degli aspetti più importanti trattati. Friends and friends of the swifts
I point out that the digital version of a book on anthropological and multidisciplinary aspects of the relationship with food, which deals in particular with birds-food in the ancient and modern world, has just been released by Enfield (UK). With a chapter I wrote about also swifts.
This happened after a visit by English friends interested in the swifts and who had visited with me some local swifts towers, I was asked to briefly tell the evolution of artificial nests for the swifts, the famed ancient swifts towers, from the Middle Ages to our days, in relationship with the sparrows towers but also with the medieval Flemish Sprevepot, with the and who knows? also with the perhaps coeval Kuş Köşkleri Ottomans. So I have condensed in 22 pages a journey of over thirty years browsing in the free time between ruins of dovecotes, shelves, bookshops … ringing bells and interviewing elderly and I could offer a selection of readings in my opinion fundamental and also a choice of original illustrations representative of the most important aspects treated.
